Your experience in Harmoni is determined by your user role. Harmoni allows for three distinct levels of access to your site and projects.
- Creator
- Explorer
- Viewer
1. Creator
The highest level of access, permission, and control. With this role, you have access to the full set of available tools and capabilities of Harmoni, and it allows you to create and distribute both projects and outputs from it.
A creator can:
- Create, edit and update projects.
- Add and update data.
- Publish projects to other creator and explorer users.
- Combine multiple data sources and harmonize into single project trees.
- Create, combine, group, shape, align, relabel and design data in the project tree.
- Include custom variables, weights, measures, bases.
- Create constructions available to all other users.
- Save and share analyses through stories.
- Create dashboards.

Only a creator can create projects. The user that creates a project is the Project Owner. As a creator, you also have all the capabilities of an Explorer and a Viewer.

2. Explorer
Ideal for those who want to investigate data.
An explorer can:
- browse projects that have been shared with you.
- Access the project tree to allow for drag and drop analysis and visualization.
- Create your constructions.
- Save and share analyses through stories.
- View dashboards shared with you.
3. Viewer
Recipient of created content such as stories, reports, and dashboards. As a viewer, you will only have access to stories, reports, and dashboards that have been shared with you.
A viewer can:
- View stories and dashboards that have been shared with them.
- Save their own stories from dashboards and stories that have been shared with them.
- Export all saved stories and dashboards directly to PPT and Excel.
